My friend Ryan and I went to Home Depot on Monday to pick up some parts for building an adaptive seat for our rafts. On our way out I suggested that we stop by Petsmart on the other side of the parking area. So we went in. I walked to two cages on the floor with dogs brought from the local Humane Society. I took one dog out of the cage, went to the playpen, and 25 minutes later I was signing the adoption paperwork. My heart was pounding and my hands were sweaty. I haven’t been this nervous in a long time.
Today I woke up in my bed with a pair of eyes about three inches from my eyes. The moment she saw me with my eyes open, she started to jump, lick and sprint from the headboard to the edge of the bed. She is a great girl. Her name is Roxy.
We already went for several walks, my Mom cooked her dinners, went shopping for all new accessories (leash, collar, ID tags), got a microchip, full checkup and all shots from Dr. Asmuss (our family veterinarian), met Lori and Tyler’s dog Dakota (our other love), met Adrienne, went for a few rides in a car, pooped all over the backyard, stole a piece of cheese, and generally been busy getting to know each other.
She is fantastic!

She’s adorable!!!!
Cute… How old is she?
Her vet thinks that she is about a year old. She came with no information about her past.
She is about a year old.
She really is cute but Filip, if you would send back our camera… we could take some really great photos!!! I’ll be in Prague on May 30th, please arrange to have it there for me to pick up!
Anyway, Roxy is just terriffic. So sweet, she is as close as you were going to get to a cloned Dakota, Martin.
Welcome to the family Roxy!!!
I second Adrienne’s motion for the camera. Plus, since I am always on the move a good tele lens with an image stabilizer is a must. Just leave it on the camera you will have for Adrienne when you meet in Prague, please.
Guys, the story about the camera and the lens has been brought up to nearly a legend already
Prague sounds great. Love visiting the city.
I might start to arrange the meeting. You touched the camera and the lens already but wouldn’t it be fun to shot some pictures in Prague with the equipment and post it on Marcin’s web site?
Adrienne, will that be business trip or just vacations? I live about 375 miles from Prague
Marcin – the dog is just great! She rocks
Hug her please.
Nice one Martin,
She looks like she will be a real barrel full of laughs for you

Roxy have won my heart in an instant. Dakota (our first other love) on the other hand thinks this light color tailed eddition to our family was not the best idea. She had told me she is too much of a lady to run like an idiot around and around – what for?
Chasing and catching a ball makes much more sense.
She had mentioned she would try to be tollerant hoping her own example will be the best lesson for the little one. And yest, I cook for the dogs, have to ask Todd for more sophisticated recipe.
And please, do not tell Roxy there is brocolli in my soup.

I can see why you fell in love with her. She is
precious and we can hardly wait to meet her
in person. She will love the stitch and bitch group
loving on her. And, yes, Dakota is our love also.
I am so happy for you. When it is the right time
your heart tells you so doesn’t it? She was made
for your family. Cathy C.
Filipe,
I always travel for pleasure, even when it is for work! Actually my sister has a business trip in Germany and we are taking a few extra days to to side trip to Prague. Aren’t I a great sister to come along and keep her company for dinner while she works all day and I go explore!?! We should be in Prague the last weekend of May.
We have never been to Prague before. What are the top 5 things we should look for? Any suggestions on food. We really have not idea what to expect. We have heard that Prague is great and charming but really do not know why. Pointers would be great!
Adrienne
PS, If you cannot make the trip just FedEx the camera to our hotel!
Martin, she is very cute, not sure why I have not made it over to see her, has nothing to do with my crazy idea to buy a house I’m sure! Oh well we’ll be moved in by the end of the month, maybe then I’ll find my brain and those extra 5 minutes a day I used to have.
Lets do supper soon we we can come meet the new addition to the family.
